The Most Rev. Prof. Daddy Hezekiah, the Archbishop of Living Christ Mission, has made a call for the federal government to take notice of the present economic conditions, which he claims have caused Nigerians great suffering.
The call was made by the man of God at a church service held at the church's administrative headquarters in Onitsha, Anambra State, to commemorate this year's Father's Day celebration and worldwide pastors conference.
Restoring gasoline subsidies, according to him, is one strategy to lessen the terrible hunger that the country is experiencing by reducing the impact of expensive foodstuffs and other products.
As a prelude to a nationwide ban scheduled to take effect in January 2025, Archbishop Hezekiah also urged President Tinubu to reevaluate the decision to forbid the single use of plastics in government offices. According to him, this move could cause a stir in a nation that is heavily dependent on plastic bottles, tiny water sachets, take-out containers, and Styrofoam, as announced by the Minister of State for Environment.
According to him, the action is an anti-people strategy that will make the masses' suffering worse: "Polythene bags do not destroy Nigeria; corruption, perversion of justice, election rigging, and oppressions do." The country does not prioritize changing the national anthem or outlawing plastic bags.
"The country is in bondage and fearful situation and needs positive policies as election rigging, injustice, and other evil vices are haunting the country," he stated, regretting that Nigeria is in the hands of authorities who lack the answers to her problems.
However, he urged Nigerians to withstand the lure of anything that could start a war, emphasizing that the only way out of the country's issues is to seek God's face through prayer.
Hezekiah also exhorted Christians to conduct moral lives since God is always close to those who lead spiritual lives and stated that those who follow in the spirit and believe in Jesus Christ are not subject to condemnation.
